Verify a claimed platform rule change

Updated

The earlier May rule-change article supplied no verifiable announcement. Without an issuer, original notice, date and scope, operating advice should not be presented as an official rule.

Find the original through the platform's announcements or help interface. Check whether it concerns creators, merchants, advertising or a specific campaign, and note when it takes effect. Preserve context when sharing screenshots; one account's experience is not automatically a platform-wide rule.

An unconfirmed rule cannot support a tool-safety promise. For actual restrictions, retain the account notice and use the platform support process.

A verification record for a rumored rule

ItemWhat to record
PublisherOfficial entry or secondary retelling
DatesPublication, effective date and later updates
ScopeCreators, merchants, ads or a campaign
ConductExact requirement and stated consequence
EvidenceOriginal link or notice with context

When the original cannot be found

Do not add official-confirmation language. Originality, accuracy and relevance can be your editorial standards without pretending they come from an unidentified May announcement.

Tool settings cannot promise safety on that basis. Retain actual account notices and use platform support. If an authoritative notice later becomes available, update the explanation only within its real scope.

Product reference

Product steps were checked against extension 3.5.3. See the related guide for instructions and pricing for access. Report behavior that differs through feedback, including the version and a redacted error.
