People always talk about account weight, but what exactly is REDnote account weight?
Account Weight
Simply put, if you post exactly the same content at the same time using different accounts, the performance metrics could vary significantly. This difference is caused by account weight. Two accounts with different weights will generate different results.
Therefore, a significant part of our REDnote operations work is to increase the account weight. The higher the weight, the more traffic your posts will receive.
What Makes Up Account Weight?
Account weight consists of the following factors:
- How long the account has been registered - older accounts have higher weight, new accounts have no weight
- Account activity level, which has two aspects: one is other users' interactions with your account (likes, profile visits, follows, comments), and the other is your account's interactions with other users' posts
- Account violation history - if an account has violations, the weight will be very low. To maintain high weight, you must avoid violations
- Network stability - whether you consistently log in from the same location and IP address; if yes, the weight will be higher
- Content stability - whether you frequently modify the same post or delete many posts at once; if yes, the weight will be lower
Post Weight
Besides account weight discussed above, there's also individual post weight.
Post weight composition:
- Follow +8
- Share +4
- Comment +4
- Like +1
- Save +1
- Report -points
When a post is first published, all these scores start at 0. The system will allocate some basic traffic. During this initial traffic phase, if the post receives many likes and comments, its weight will gradually increase, and the system will direct more traffic to our post.
